A Middleweight contest between Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares will now headline UFC Fight Night 22 following Alan Belcher’s removal from the card due to a detached retina that required surgery. Marquardt and Palhares were originally scheduled to meet later this month at UFC 118. UFC have yet to acknowledge that change, an announcement is expected this week.

The former middleweight title contender, Damian Maia’s participation on the card remains to be revealed, with no opponent announced as of press time, he may still fight on the card. Maia is coming off a five round decision loss to Anderson Silva; a fight that Dana White eventually walked out of the arena due to Silva’s lack of engagement.
