Light Heavyweight Bout: James Irvin vs. Terry Martin

Irvin defeats Martin by knockout from a flying knee at :09 of round two. Irvin's strike left Martin unconscious in the ring, prompting medical officials to carry him out of the arena on a stretcher. [2] Martin sustained no debilitating injuries. The bout, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.

Middleweight Bout: Trevor Prangley vs. Travis Lutter

Prangley defeats Lutter by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Prangley. During the bout, Prangley committed two accidental fouls (knee strikes to the groin); however, he was still able to win the judges' decision. This bout was preliminary, and was not aired on the broadcast.

Middleweight Bout: Matt Lindland vs. Joe Doerksen

Lindland defeats Doerksen by unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 30-27, 29-28, and 30-27 for Lindland. At the post-fight press conference, it was revealed that Matt Lindland had become the #1 contender for the championship title; however, shortly after this, the UFC released Lindland from their roster. Welterweight Bout: Georges St. Pierre vs. Frank Trigg

St. Pierre defeats Trigg by submission (rear naked choke) at 4:09 of round one. St. Pierre completely dominates the fight and "runs a clinic" on Frank Trigg, according to Joe Rogan.

Welterweight Bout: Diego Sanchez vs Brian Gassaway

Sanchez defeats Gassaway by submission (strikes) at 1:56 of round two.

Light Heavyweight Bout: Randy Couture vs. Mike Van Arsdale

Couture defeats Van Arsdale by submission (anaconda choke) at :52 of round three. With this victory, Couture became the #1 contender for the championship title.

Heavyweight Bout: Tim Sylvia vs. Tra Telligman

In the evening's swing bout, Sylvia defeats Telligman by knockout (head kick) at 4:59 of round one.

Light Heavyweight Championship Bout: Champion Chuck Liddell vs. Jeremy Horn

In the main event of the evening, Light Heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, successfully defends his title and defeats Jeremy Horn by technical knockout (referee stoppage) at 2:46 of round four. After repeated blows to the eyes, Horn complained to referee 'Big' John McCarthy that he could not see, prompting McCarthy to call the match.
