Hoger defeats Newton by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:05 of round two. The bout, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.

Middleweight bout: Jeremy Horn vs. Trevor Prangley

Horn defeats Prangley by close unanimous decision, to which the crowd responded with mixed reactions.

Welterweight bout: Georges St. Pierre vs Sean Sherk

In one of the more anticipated bouts of the evening, Georges St. Pierre defeats Sean Sherk by technical knockout by strikes at 2:53 of round two.

Welterweight bout: Matt Hughes vs Joe Riggs

UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Hughes defeats Joe Riggs by submission (kimura) at 3:28 of round one. Riggs was brought in as a replacement for Karo Parisyan, who suffered an injury in his training leading up to the bout. Although originally scheduled as a championship match, Riggs could not make the required weight at 170 lb (he came in at 171 lb) and the bout was changed to a non-title welterweight match, where there is a 1 lb allowance.

Heavyweight bout: Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Kevin Jordan

In the evening's swing bout, Gonzaga defeats Jordan by knockout at 4:39 of round three. Despite the exciting finish, the bout was uneventful up to that point, inciting boos from the audience and criticism from the ringside announcers.

Middleweight Championship bout: Champion Rich Franklin vs. Nathan Quarry

In the main event of the evening, Middleweight champion, Rich Franklin, defends his title and defeats Nathan Quarry by knockout at 2:34 of round one.
